The HL7 integration enables direct data exchange between the pathology lab and the client, such as a hospital. When a referring physician issues a referral in their HIS system, it is automatically forwarded to LISPAT – along with complete patient and case data. This eliminates the need for manual data entry, minimizing errors and significantly accelerating the registration process.
Once a result is signed by the pathologist, LISPAT automatically sends it to the hospital system. As a result, the referring physician receives the report almost immediately after it is approved – with no need to print or send physical documents.
By default, the HL7 module transmits referrals and results in textual format. However, LISPAT also supports sending results as embedded PDF documents and XML files compliant with the HL7 CDA standard. This ensures full compliance with both legal and technical regulations in Poland.
The HL7 module in LISPAT uses the standard data transmission mechanism via the TCP protocol, as commonly used in Poland. Data security is ensured by VPN-encrypted channels, eliminating the risk of interception during transmission.
